About NMC

Nursing Mothers' CounselorsNursing Mothers’ Counselors (NMC) is a group made up of mothers with breastfeeding experience. A counselor has successfully breastfed a baby for at least six consecutive months, and wishes to support new breastfeeding moms in a non-judgmental way. Nursing Mothers’ Counselors complete Harrisburg Hospital’s requirements for becoming a hospital volunteer, complete a training facilitated by NMC leaders, and “shadow’ with two different counselors before working on their own.
